The Ender 3 is an all around excellent 3D Printer for entry level users who wish to begin the hobby, or even for use around the workplace. The starting price for these units is below $200 USD and therefore they do tend to skimp on some features. Guess what though, now that you own a 3D Printer you can make your own mods for FREE! The guys here at Print 3D world have multiple Ender 3’s and we make the same mods for each printer, below are our top favorite 3 FREE mods (see the downloads section for more!).
#1 Ender 3 Motherboard Fan Cover
The motherboard fan cover is an important first mod, simply because you don’t want your fan to get small pieces of filament or melted plastic into the fan. If your control board fan is jammed, you run the risk of overheating the stepper motor drivers during long prints. Don’t forget, this fan is also linked with the parts cooling fan therefore it doesn’t run unless your parts cooling fan is on; don’t disable cooling in your long prints without modifying the fan wiring. Download the fan cover, and print it in the color you wish.

#2 Ender 3 Cable Chains
Our next mod is always the cable chains, these will prevent your wiring from fraying during all of the excessive movement while 3D Printing. The wires supplied from Creality have some sleeving on them, but this will not prevent damage over thousands of movement cycles. The chains are simple to print, and you can make a lot of them at once. We recommend doing the bed wires first, and then the Z axis wiring if you cannot print on your entire build surface. We recommend looking through the files, and choosing the correct mount for your Ender 3 version (there are different types of mounts).
- For Creality Ender 3 rear cable.
- Keep it Neat and Cool.
- Snap design. No need screw or nut.
- Print without support.

#3 Ender 3 Display PCB Cover
Our third favorite Ender 3 modification is to seal up that PCB on the back of the LCD control panel. This cover ensures that you do not touch the PCB, or cause damage while trying to manipulate the knob and use your LCD control panel. There are also options to delete the buzzer on the back, but we always make the one with the hole and delete the buzzer in the firmware. Hope you enjoy all of our Ender 3 Upgrades!
