Ender 3 Pro ERR: MAXTEMP

I keep getting this message every time I try to preheat for PLA, has anyone encountered this problem?  please help

 

Err: MAXTEMP

PRINTER HALTED

Yep, I sure have. Usually if the thermocouple comes loose or is broken this will happen. I have seen it several times. Which printer? Have you swapped hot-ends or worked on anything lately? You are hitting the thermal shutdown, so you have an issue somewhere.

@print3d it is an ender 3 pro. I switched the hot end because I read the thermistor was causing the issue so I got a brand new one from creality and it keeps reading the same thing

@ferandrade Can you tell me the temperature when you turn the printer on? Does the temperature go down or up? Make sure you have the wires setup correctly on the main board also.
