Hi, I'm new to this forum I joined hoping someone would help to set up a CR-10 version one printer with a new BTT SKR-2 motherboard and the BTT TFT35-E3 V3.0 screen.

The CR-10 is has been running a Direct Drive extruder mod using the stock stepper motor, a Micro Swiss all metal hotend and a Fang duct system. I  recently got the hairbrained idea to upgrade to the 32bit board with more mods to come later, such as dual z axes, a filament run out sensor, a BL Touch and some other things down the road.  I thought that Resume Printing would be a plus since we experience occasional power outages in our area.

I have attempted to flash the board with VSC and have had some issues that I cannot solve on my own.  while attempting to compile Marlin Bugfix 2.0 I'm failing miserably, to say the least.  For one thing, in Marlin, I don't know what to call this motherboard (what to name it) If I use BBT SKR-2 I get an error, SKR-2 also gives me an error.

Any ideas as what to call this board so that Marlin will recognize it and allow me to go on to enable features for the motherboard, TFT35 and CR-10 default settings?  If anyone has done this motherboard on a Creality CR-10, I sure would appreciate some advice, Thanks in advance, jb

in the marlin folder view src/boards.h

hit ctrl-f and type BTT. it should come up with about 30 results. search through those until you find your exact board.

it should look something like this

BOARD_BTT_SKR_V2_0_REV_A

@print3d I was not successful getting the new BTT SK2 motherboard and BTT TFT35 board to work with Marlin 2.0!   After a month of attempts and help from various forums I have been beating my head against the wall!  I returned the boards to the vendors and I'm looking for another solution for my CR10 upgrade.

From information floating around the forums, BTT used a substitute chip different from their prototype.  It is rumored that the substitute chip will not run Marlin 2.0!

The chip shortage is a major problem facing companies during the pandemic.

I do not know this for a fact but after a month of attempts, it was time to move on and get my printer working again.  I went back to the reality CR10 board and my printer is working great!  Your mileage may differ, I am not fluent in electronics or programming (flashing firmware).   Big Tree Tech did not answer any of my emails and support was NIL!   If they will not support their products, I will not support THEM !   I have moved on!  Jb

Hello,

I haven't heard anything like that? I know the new BTT Octopus has been seen to work in the wild.. I would be glad to help you with your firmware issues. You could have sent the board to us for a few days to write some firmware. Otherwise, I would need access to the computer with the board hooked up.

Wish you the best! We are here to support when they arent if you need it.

Hey, I also have a cr10 v1, microswiss direct drive extruder, a bl touch, filament run out sensor, and a skr 2. I'd love to know the changes you had to do in marlin, configs for the microswiss, any advice you'd give would be very helpful.
